Frequently Asked Questions
How much do iRock cost to hire?
Please contact us for a quote. We would love to give you an instant quote but there are many variables that affect the price. These include peak dates, travel times, set times and finish times. We are VERY competitively priced.....you may be surprised, so please get in touch.
Should I be nervous about booking a band I have not seen before?
We totally understand concerns about booking a band you’ve not seen before. However all of the photos, demos and videos we create for you are a great representation of what you get. Check out the acts testimonials from other happy clients for peace of mind. In most circumstances it is not possible to see the band live we perform at private functions. Due to the fact they are private, we can not obtain access and would hate to intrude on anyones special day or big event. Bands who regularly play publicly at pubs etc are probably not the type you’d hire for an important private party as pubs don’t pay the money required for top quality acts.
On the very rare occasion that we might be doing a public show, we can not guarantee that we will still be available for your event by the time you get to see us. We do get booked very quickly so you are much safer basing your decision to hire us or any other band on the strength of videos, demos, play list, biography and references from other customers. We really do try to make the footage and demos as true to life as possible so what you see is what you get.
Does your price include everything?
For convenience our quotes cover everything including our state of the art PA for up to 300 guests and expenses.
Do you require a deposit?
We do require a deposit to secure the date. The deposit must be paid within 7 days of agreeing the booking. The deposit is non refundable.
Do I select the set list or leave it to the band?
We are experts in events like yours and know what works and what doesn't. If there are songs on the playlist you particularly love or hate let us know. Otherwise you can leave it up to us
What happens if I cancel?
Cancellation by the client or the artist is not allowed once the booking is agreed verbally or electronically by both parties, except where Force Majeure applies. Where Force Majeure does not apply a cancellation fee must be paid by the client. Details of these fees are in our terms and conditions that we send you before booking.
How long do you play for?
Our fee is based on us playing up to 2 hours of music. How you split that up is entirely up to you but we generally do 2 x 60 minute sets. We can however play for longer at extra cost.
What’s the line up?
iRock are a 4 piece band consisting bass, drums, guitar and male vocal. We run professional 'studio produced' tracks to enhance the sound but play 100% of the live instruments that you can see on stage. Some bands pride themselves on not using tracks... we are not sure why!? Tracks are used by all major touring artists from Rhianna to Robbie, Beyonce to Black Eyed Peas. They create a far fuller and more modern feel allowing us to bring the sound you are used to from fresh current chart hits.
How experienced is the band?
iRock band members are all full time professional musicians. They have years of experience in the industry, and have performed at many prestigious occasions.
Will iRock play some older songs too as we’re worried the “older crowd” may not enjoy the modern set?
Rest assured, people of ALL ages will love iRock. We have selected our set VERY carefully and we are constantly refining it!
Do iRock have “Public Liability” insurance and is all your equipment PAT tested?
Yes, iRock have public liability insurance and all our gear is PAT tested. Documentation to prove this is available on request.
How far do you travel?
We travel both nationally and internationally to play at events.
How much space do you need?
Ideally we need a minimum space of 5m wide x 4m deep but we have been known to squeeze into smaller areas when absolutely necessary.
Will I need to provide any equipment for the band?
The band is fully self contained with PA system for up to 300 guests, sound desk and lights. We do require that the venue has at least two standard power points situated near the performance space.
I would like the band to play outside what are the requirements for this?
Open air events can be fantastic and we are happy to play outside but would need a suitable area such as a covered stage or marquee/gazebo for example. Potential rainfall etc needs to be taken into account. We will require access to at least two standard power points.
What happens if one of the band members cannot play due to illness?
iRock has a pool of incredible 'stand in' musicians and vocalists who are all trusted, professional, rehearsed and ready to go. We would never compromise the quality. The show must go on!!
Can you arrive in the morning to set up for an evening event?
If we are available, yes. However an extra fee may be applicable.
How long do you take to set up?
Our quote includes us being available for up to 3 hours before our performance. We like to allow approx 1½ hours for the 'get in', PA set up and sound check. We will always run through a few numbers to fully balance the sound to the venue prior to each performance. Therefore, it is important that you account for this in your schedule. We will need to make some noise albeit it of the musical kind!
How far in advance shall I book the band?
Please book the band as soon as you can, we are already booking up into next year!
Can iRock play recorded/background music between sets?
Yes, we can play recorded/background music through our PA system before we play and during the interval. We have music of all styles including swing, soul, rock n roll and disco etc or you can provide your own if you prefer... just pop a playlist on your iPod!! iRock will play up to 30 minutes of recorded/background music after our performance.
